The player takes the role of Kage, a ninja from Iga, who uses his short sword and throwing stars to topple his enemies in a quest to free the princess from the demonic fortress where she has been taken.

STORY
It is the end of the Edo period and all of Japan lives in fear of a demonic army that has risen from the land of darkness.
Princess Kiri, daughter of the castle lord, has been kidnapped. Answering the lord's call, warriors from throughout the land have headed off to the army's fortress to rescue her, yet not one has made the journey back.
Now, one lone youth runs off toward the fortress to save the princess – Kage, a ninja from Iga.
